Find Flights to Nearest Breckenridge Airports
If you’ll be flying into Colorado for your Breckenridge vacation, you’ll have three options when it comes to which airport to fly into. While you won’t be able to fly directly into Breckenridge, each of these three airports is located within a two and a half-hour drive or less of the town. This means that you will need to rent a car or reserve an airport shuttle in order to get to Breckenridge. If you’ve never driven in the mountains or in the snow, an airport shuttle service may be the way to go. Take all your trip plans into consideration along with the weather when determining how you’d like to get to Breckenridge. In addition, keep in mind that if you’re visiting during the winter, snow storms may affect your arrival and departure times. Denver International Airport
Denver International Airport (DEN) is a little over 100 miles from Breckenridge, which translates to about a two-hour drive (depending on traffic and weather conditions, of course). The airport, commonly referred to as DIA, will most likely be the airport you fly into and out of as it offers the most flight options. It is the sixth-busiest airport in the country with over 58 million passengers each year and service from over 20 airlines. If you’ll be renting a car, there are a dozen different rental car companies represented at the the airport. Alternatively, if you’ll be taking an airport shuttle, there are seven companies that provide service to Breckenridge.
Should you have some downtime before or after your flight, you won’t be left wanting for dining or shopping options. There are over 140 shops, services, and restaurants in the terminal and the three concourses. In addition, Denver International Airport is well-known for its large, unique art collection. Free wireless internet is available throughout the airport.
Colorado Springs Airport
You’ll find Colorado Springs Airport (COS) about 110 miles from Breckenridge. It has service from six airlines. The airport is home to about a dozen restaurants and shops and free wireless internet is available. On-site you’ll find seven rental car companies and there are two options for airport shuttle service to Breckenridge, however only private shuttles are available.
While Colorado Springs Airport may not have as many airlines, restaurants, or shops as DIA, it offers a more calm travel experience. Many passengers note that the airport is easy to navigate and that it’s stress-free to get in and get out of thanks to its small size.
Eagle Country Regional Airport
Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is the closest airport to Breckenridge. It’s located in Gypsum, Colorado, which is about 70 miles west of Breck. The airport has service from four airlines. Two airlines offer year-round service, while the other two offer service only in the winter. Non-stop service is available from 13 US cities (and one Canadian city) during the winter months. The airport is home to five shops and restaurants. For those of you who will be renting a car, there are seven on-site car rental companies. There is one on-site shuttle company that provides service to Breckenridge.
